A Mid-Year Reading Wrap-Up: lofty goals, some five star reads, and a few disappointments

and we answer the big question: are we failing our reading challenges?

I love reading stats. I love wrap ups. I love debrief on a what people are reading and loving and hating. It makes the end of the year one of my favourite times in the bookish year for all of the content, but I firmly believe that we need a mid-year offering of bookish stats, and we’re here to deliver.

If you’re curious about what Sarah is devouring from Kindle Unlimited and what insane challenges I have set myself in 2025 and how they’re going, you’re going to want to listen to this episode.

I found myself floundering to passionately defend the book I’ve loved the most in 2025 so far because I will be judged for it, and Sarah goes to significant lengths to reassure everyone that she doesn’t just read smut.

I also do a truly terrible impersonation of the AI from the ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ series audiobooks. It turns out that my voice just cannot recreate what I sound like in my brain.

We’ll let you be our judges…
